I just have to say-
It really is a shame that they don’t put turning signals on cars anymore.
They just don’t have them. I know, because I’ve seen it.
Like today, for example… There I was, sitting at a stop sign of a somewhat busy intersection in town, I had MY signal on, to turn left… But the car coming towards me didn’t. So naturally, I thought she must be going straight. Wrong. She was turning, in fact- right onto the road I was on. But no turning signal.
And she didn’t seem bothered by it at all as she struggled to turn the wheel with the opposite of what would be the natural hand, as her clearly dominant hand was a bit tied up… With her cell phone, of course. It was a very nice new-looking car, I don’t wanna throw any brand names out there for fear of retribution from car manufacturers, but I do believe the name of her car starts with an “L” and ends with an “s.” Very sleek. The kind of car with more features than anyone could possibly know what to do with. I assume this, of course, because that kind of transportation is so far out of my reach I’ll never really know, but I do know this: IF I ever did have that kind of luxury to tote me around town to run my oh-so-important-errands, I would be the most cautious driver in the world. Hands at 10 & 2, eyes forward, head on a swivel, and certainly no “devices” not attached to the car that could possibly distract me. But I digress.
…What was my point? …
Oh, yeah- that it is a shame they don’t put turning signals in cars anymore. I mean, just think… That nice lady paid all that money for that ride, but really got ripped off.
I’m joking, of course. If anyone out there was confused- let me clear that up. Yes, vehicles still come with turning signals. It just doesn’t seem like it all the time, because the drivers forget to use them. 🙂 Specifically, luxury automobiles like the one from this morning (you know, “L___s”) most certainly have them. Actually, they prolly have the kind where you just have to think about turning and a sensor does it for you. Wouldn’t that be cool?! But just to clarify, I wasn’t badmouthing or singling out any auto maker. Just an example.
I can’t say I’m completely innocent in this type of scenario either, it happens. So I, for one, will do my part to be more cautious of my signal use. And therefore not make random drivers mad, which in turn makes the people around them happier, and everybody they run into will be more pleasant, and on and on until eventually = world peace.
Wadda ya think?
