It’s another hot one here in the Midwest.
High 90’s and no sign of relief any time soon.
But what makes it so miserable is the HUMIDITY.
Omigosh… it is just …so … Ugh…… frickin hot!
I think I heard it best this morning on the the news…
“Oppressive heat blankets the country again today.”
Yes. It IS oppressive. That’s the best way to describe it.
Suffocating. Thick, heavy air. Wet, muggy air. Just miserable.
The kind that makes it feel like you just climbed out of the swimming pool and threw clothes on over your bikini.
Love that. 😕
Thank God for the small, short gusts of wind that give some relief. At least for a few seconds. That’s okay, though… I’ll take it!
My dog, Bentley (or Glucar Bentabious, properly) loves it! I don’t get that at all. He’s at the door all day waiting for someone to let him out. Weirdo. But, because he doesn’t know any better, I bring him in after about 10 minutes and give him fresh water. Otherwise, he’d lay out there all day, just basking. He loves it. Bless his little heart.
Well, to all of you reading this that are suffering in this sweltering heat, hang in there! Drink plenty of liquids! I think the equation is something like: take your weight in pounds, and half that amount is the amount of ounces you should drink in a day. I know it sounds like a lot, but most bottles of water are ~17 oz, so it actually adds up quick! You can do it!
So, good luck! And please keep anyone who works outside in your thoughts and prayers, they need it! I don’t know how they do it.
